APAD to monitor express bus fares ahead of Raya

The Land Public Transport Agency (APAD) will be keeping an eye on express bus ticket prices as Hari Raya Aidilfitri approaches, transport minister Anthony Loke has introduced, .
He mentioned APAD will take action against any drastic or unreasonable price increases, and that express bus companies have been given the green light to impose a 10% festive surcharge.
“Express buses for the festive period are allowed (to impose) a 10% surcharge and that is normal, (it) has been implemented for years. However, APAD will monitor if there is any unreasonable or drastic increase and we (the ministry) will take action through APAD,” mentioned Loke.
The transport minister had showcased in March last year that the 10% express bus festive surcharge, which is allowed to be imposed up to a week before and up to a week after the festival day, is justified as factors like additional bus service capacity and payment for bus hire had to be taken into account.

Hot Holden Commodore targeted by angle grinder-wielding thieves in broad daylight

Brazen thieves have been caught on camera attempting to steal an HSV Senator – a luxury/performance version of the Holden Commodore – in Melbourne, amid an epidemic of thefts of the once-popular homegrown family car.
Footage uploaded to X – formerly Twitter – by 3AW presenter Madelaine Burke displays a VF Holden Commodore SV6 and an FG Ford Falcon XT parked around the VF HSV Senator in Port Melbourne on February 9.
One person is already in the Senator when another climbs out of the Falcon with what appears to be an angle grinder, with sparks subsequently shown in the HSV’s cabin.
It appears the thieves were attempting to cut off its steering wheel-mounted Club Lock, which can be used as a temporary theft deterrent but is not a permanent solution to stop your car being stolen.

It’s not yet known whether the Senator was eventually stolen, however, the footage doesn’t appear to show the thieves undertaking the previous steps commonly followed by those who’ve in the recent past stolen Commodores.
As previously reported, late-model Holden Commodores – especially V8-powered VFs – are being targeted as they can be easily started and stolen by criminals using an OBD-reading tool intended for mechanics and locksmiths.
The tool can be used to delete the original key paired to the car and then pair a new key, after thieves hack into the front bumper to disable the horn/alarm and unlock a door.
It’s a simple yet effective technique that has become all too common across Australia, leading VF Commodore owners to park up their cars in secure buildings to keep them as safe as possible from criminals.
While some stolen Commodores are being used to joyride, others are being rebirthed, whereby certain identifying attributes from multiple cars – such as their Vehicle Identification Numbers (VIN) and chassis numbers – are being transferred to disguise them as another vehicle.
Temporary deterrents include mechanical devices such as Club Locks and Cop Locks, while a PIN-coded immobiliser and relocated horn could also help reduce the likelihood of your car being stolen.
Last week, a spokesperson for General Motors Australia and New Zealand (GMANZ) mentioned it was “aware of reports of vehicle thefts where offenders are misusing an aftermarket locksmith’s tool sold for general vehicle use.”.
“The purchase of this tool is currently unregulated.”.

Genesis is reportedly launching a luxury G70 EV sports sedan — Here’s what we know so far

Word on the street is the Genesis G70 is going all-electric. The luxury sports sedan is due for a complete overhaul, including a new look and a fully electric powertrain. Here’s what we know about the Genesis G70 EV so far.
Is Genesis launching a G70 EV sports sedan?
Hyundai’s luxury Genesis brand already offers three fully electric vehicles (EVs): the GV60, the Electrified GV70 SUV, and the Electrified G80 sedan.
This year, all are getting significant updates, including a longer driving range, a refined interior and exterior design, and even more luxury.
Genesis isn’t stopping here. The luxury automaker has even bigger plans in the works. ’s MotorsJason, the luxury sports sedan will be completely redesigned. The findings indicates the next-gen Genesis G70 will be exclusively sold as an EV model.
After the Kia Stinger GT1 EV project was put on hold, its launch was finally confirmed. Now, attention has shifted to its sibling, the Genesis G70.
Although the G70 was reportedly being discontinued, and plans for a hybrid were also scrapped, Genesis could revive it as an EV to attract younger buyers to the brand.
The electric G70 could even earn a Magma performance model. The enterprise’s product planning director noted the G70 is an crucial car for younger buyers to experience the Genesis brand. He explained that the model’s future is being discussed every day on a global level, adding there’s still hope for the G70.
At 4,685 mm ([website]″) long, the 2025 Genesis G70 is about the size of a Tesla Model 3 (4,720 mm/ [website]″). However, the electric G70 is expected to be slightly smaller and sportier. It’s expected to fill the gap with the Audi A5 coupe and convertible being discontinued.
Like the GV90, its upcoming ultra-luxury electric SUV, the G70 EV will ride on Hyundai’s new eM platform, which will replace the current E-GMP.
Genesis is expected to unveil the GV90 by the end of the year (Here’s a look at it after it was spotted for the first time in South Korea). With the G70 EV still under development, it’s not likely to arrive until 2027 or 2028. Prices are expected to start at around 70 million won in Korea, or just under $50,000. Check back.
