Oblivion Console Commands & Cheats — Full PC Guide

Important disclaimer

Console commands are PC-only. Oblivion's console does not disable achievements by default (the game predates achievement systems). Commands that skip quests may cause script conflicts — use player.setstage sparingly.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion's cheat system is a developer console — press the tilde key (~) in-game to open it and type commands directly. Bethesda games were built with console access in mind; the commands are well-documented and cover everything from gold and items to character stats and quest flags.

Oblivion console commands — PC cheat reference

Press the tilde key (~) to open the console. Click on an NPC or object to target it, then type the command. Press Enter to run it. The console accepts partial spelling for most commands.

  • Quest-altering commands (setstage) can break quest scripts — use with caution.
  • Adding items by ID without knowing the item may cause unexpected behavior.
  • The console is not available on Xbox 360 — PC only.
