Colman Domingo confirms Marvel talks, addresses Kang rumors: ‘I want a role to be mine’
Ever since Marvel fired Jonathan Majors, Colman Domingo has been rumored to step into the role of Kang the Conqueror.
While speaking with Josh Horowitz on the Happy Sad Confused podcast. Domingo set the record straight about his conversations with Marvel. After seeing his name constantly associated with Kang, Domingo and his team reached out to Marvel to see if they were true.
“When it was constantly in the press and on places like Twitter. I was like, ‘Wait a minute. Is this true? Am I being talked about for Kang?’” Domingo told Horowitz. “I literally called up my team and presented, ‘Are you guys having conversations that I have no idea about?’ And they presented no. ‘Are you guys being cagey or what?’ They weren’t.

“There had been conversations about me coming into Marvel in some way. So we did follow up with a sit-down meeting with the heads of Marvel. So I did do that. We talked openly about the landscape of Marvel and the Kang rumors.”.
As Kang the Conqueror, Majors was set to become the MCU’s next big villain. Following in the footsteps of Josh Brolin’s Thanos. In December 2023, Marvel fired Majors after he was convicted of reckless assault and harassment. Without Majors, Marvel needed a new actor to play the villain in the previously titled Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.
Despite his interest in Marvel. Domingo did not want to replace Majors. The two-time Oscar nominee wants to find a role of his “own” to build from the “ground up.”.
“I’m just all about energy, and. I just want to do things that make sense and bring gentle energy,” Domingo added. “I want a role to be mine, whatever that role is, whatever I develop. Something didn’t feel right of me like, ‘Oh, would I replace someone?’ I introduced, ‘No. I want to build something from the ground up that’s my own.'”.
Marvel eventually pivoted from Kang to Doctor Doom and cast Robert Downey Jr. in Avengers: Doomsday.

For a long time, iPhone customers have requested an estimate for how much longer it would take their phone to charge, but. Apple has yet to come through. Reddit user u/AlxR25 grew tired of waiting for the feature and decided to create one themselves, sharing it on the r/iPhone subreddit.
They created the Shortcut through a combination of commands and. Instructed it to run immediately upon connecting the iPhone to a charger. When enabled, a message pops up with an estimate for how long until the phone is fully charged.
It’s not quite as straightforward as it seems. Though. The iPhone charges at different rates. The Shortcut was created using a 20W charger as the baseline, and that charges 1% of the battery every minutes up to 50%. From that point, it gains 1% charge every minutes to 100%. And if you have Optimized Charging enabled, the pace slows to a crawl after 80%.
Another Redditor, u/Alarming_Cod8848, created a secondary version of the Shortcut based off u/AlxR25’s original design that took the varied charging speeds into account and launched a discussion on how to make the Shortcut even more accurate.

Speaking to Digital Trends, Executive Producer of Gameplay Aaron McHardy painted a picture of a more somber and. Before the team could make Madden NFL 23's gameplay more effective. They had to fix what was broken already. The past few Madden titles have all been riddled with bugs, and the situation got worse than ever with Madden NFL 22. The annual release schedule and pandemic had finally caught up to EA Tiburon's game quality. McHardy outlined the steps the developers are taking to ensure it (hopefully) doesn't happen again.
"We looked at how we developed the game and scoured the internet, and. Actually got our QA department to, within our dev tools, log every complaint that we could find to track them," McHardy explains. "Where possible, we'd go in and analyze that to figure out what the actual issue was that was causing someone to complain. If there was a video, we put it in our database, and if it was a general complaint about an area of our game, we'd gather them all together and figure out what all the issues are."

Moving to another aspect, this process was thorough. As the developers ended up with a list of "hundreds" of bugs and issues that EA Tiburon could improve. The team then fixed some issues as part of Madden NFL 22's live-service updates and took anything they couldn't fix into account when planning Madden NFL 23's development.
"In the way that we plan new attributes every year, we were also planning fixes for all of those bugs to make sure that we fixed them and. Also have time left to catch new ones we are creating," he noted. "Polish was a big thing for us on the team this year, so while there are still some bugs because we aren't finished. We feel like the game is already in a improved position this year than it was at this time last year. We are hyperfocused on making the most polished game that we can."
