Bay Capital Picks Delhivery’s Sandeep Barasia To Firm Up Advisory Board

The appointment strengthens Bay Capital's advisory board which includes experts like Prof. Russell Napier and Preston Hutchings.

He played a key role in scaling Delhivery from $25 Mn to over $1 Bn in revenue during his tenure as Executive Director and CBO.

Barasia brings over 30 years of experience in consulting, strategy development and business operations to Bay Capital's advisory board.

India-focused investment management firm Bay Capital Partners has appointed Delhivery’s Sandeep Barasia to its advisory board.

Barasia was the executive director and chief business officer at Delhivery, where led the growth since 2015. Under his leadership, Delhivery’s revenue grew from approximately $25 Mn to over $1 Bn by 2024.

“His exceptional strategic insight and vast industry experience will be crucial in shaping our growth trajectory and refining our investment approach,” showcased Siddharth Mehta, founder and chief investment officer at Bay Capital.

Prior to Delhivery, Barasia spent over a decade at Bain & Company, where he was a partner and played a pivotal role in setting up the Bain Capability Centre in India. He also served on the boards of companies like Mumtaz Hotels and Godrej Nature’s Basket.

“Bay’s investment philosophy of long-term, sustainable growth resonates deeply with my own belief in the potential of India’s economy. I look forward to working with Siddharth and the team to explore new opportunities,” Barasia revealed.

Founded in 2006, Bay Capital specialises in long-term investments in market-leading Indian businesses. The firm partners with sophisticated investors, including university endowments, pension funds, foundations and family offices.

Barasia is a management graduate from the London Business School and has completed executive education at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.

The appointment comes amid several leadership changes in India’s investment and startup ecosystem. Earlier this week, Peak XV Partners witnessed the exit of its managing directors Shailesh Lakhani and Abheek Anand, who had been with the VC firm for over 17 years and 12 years.
