Valorant Error van-124 is a file integrity failure. Vanguard scans core game files at launch and van-124 means at least one file does not match the expected hash. This can result from a failed update, a disk error, or — in rare cases — third-party modification of game files.
Repair through Riot Client
Open the Riot Client, click the gear icon next to Valorant, and select Repair. The client will verify and re-download any corrupted or missing files.
Antivirus interference
Some antivirus programs quarantine Valorant game files they suspect are malicious. Check your antivirus quarantine and restore any Valorant-related files before repairing.
How to fix step by step
- 1Open Riot Client, click the gear icon next to Valorant > Repair
- 2Wait for the file verification and repair to complete (may take 10–30 minutes)
- 3Check your antivirus quarantine for any Valorant files and restore them before repairing
- 4Add the Valorant game directory to your antivirus exclusions to prevent future quarantines
