Broken Xbox? Microsoft says you can now get it fixed in Currys

Xbox won't switch on? Microsoft has introduced you can now head down to high street chain Currys to get your console repaired.
Currys has been named as the UK's first ever Xbox Authorised Service Provider, following the retailer's previous partnership with Microsoft to act as similar for the enterprise's Surface laptops.
If you have a broken Xbox Series S or Series X, Currys stores will now host "expert colleagues" who may be able to help, a press release from Microsoft today states.
Alternatively, Currys can also help get your console booked in to be repaired. Fun fact: this will be within Europe's largest tech repair centre, which is based in Newark, Nottinghamshire.
While consoles out of warranty will presumably not be repaired for free, there is a positive spin to all this which is to encourage people to try and repair goods where possible, rather than simply throwing them away and creating more electronic waste.
If you're in the US, Microsoft revealed a similar partnership last month with uBreakiFix by Asurion, which is now the first Xbox Authorised Service Provider over the pond. It will also seek to repair Xbox consoles, at nearly 700 participating store locations State-side.
Microsoft's next big gaming launch for Xbox is Avowed, which today was confirmed to feature a 60fps mode if you play on Xbox Series X.

Harrison Ford praises Troy Baker's Indiana Jones: "it didn't take AI to do it"

Harrison Ford has praised Troy Baker's depiction of his iconic whip-toting archaeologist in Xbox's recent release Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.
Ford was interviewed by the Wall Street Journal, and discussed the suggestion someone might use AI to replicate his likeness in the future. Notably, his last appearance in the Indiana Jones film series includes a digitalised de-aged likeness of himself, seen through flashbacks.
"You don't need artificial intelligence to steal my soul. You can already do it for nickels and dimes with good ideas and talent," noted Ford, before referring to Baker's performance as the iconic Indy. "He did a brilliant job, and it didn't take AI to do it."
Indeed, Ford isn't concerned with AI. "My plan is to keep working behind that face till I don't care what happens anymore. I'm selling that piece by piece while I'm alive," he mentioned. "I've been compensated. You don't need to worry about me."
AI has been a major talking point for video game actors, and a key hold-up in negotiations between actors' union SAG-AFTRA and the video game industry as a strike continues.
Eurogamer spoke to celebrated video game actor Jennifer Hale about the strikes, with Hale describing AI as "an existential issue for all of us".
"We need to be able to control when our voice is used," she expressed. "I don't want my voice used on a project that I would never support or that I didn't say yes to. We need to be compensated for when our voice is used, because we are paid for our exposure as much as for our time."
If anything, Baker's performance as Indiana Jones proves AI isn't necessary to replicate an iconic character - talent is enough.
Baker has been widely praised for his performance in the game, which begins with a recreation of the prologue from Raiders of the Lost Ark.

EA eyeing Nintendo Switch 2 for several key franchises

EA has become one of the first publishers to discuss - in broad terms - its plans for Switch 2, now Nintendo has finally lifted the lid on its next console.
Speaking to investors last night following the release of its latest financial results, EA boss Andrew Wilson namechecked major franchises the organization expected to find a home on Switch 2.
"Certainly, our expectation is that products like [EA Sports] FC and Madden and others might find real energy on the platform as they have done in the past," Wilson noted.
"When you think about something like The Sims and MySims: Cozy Bundle, which performed well ahead of our expectations, 50 percent of all players were new to EA," he continued. "That represents a great opportunity for us."
Switch 2 still lacks a release date, but with public hands-on events running in April and May, a summer launch seems likely.
Could Switch 2 launch with the current EA Sports FC 25? Or might EA decide to hold off until this autumn's next installment?
It's easy to see EA releasing existing titles in The Sims series on the new console - perhaps the new Sims 1+2 Bundle? Could EA also make use of the Switch 2's mysterious mouse pointer functionality also?
And how about Dragon Age: The Veilguard? EA could try and launch that on Switch 2 as a way to boost sales, after previously saying the game had not met its own expectations.
Lastly, there's the next Battlefield. EA still seems unsure exactly when it will land (we may know more after Rockstar decides on a date for GTA 6), but could Switch 2 have the horsepower to run that? It'll be intriguing to find out.
Nintendo is next set to discuss Switch 2 in April, via a special Nintendo Direct laying out more detail on the upcoming console. We're expecting to hear a launch date and price then - as well as more information on the games we'll all be playing, other than the next Mario Kart.
