Disney x Fortnite collab moves into "stable" branch exactly a year after Disney invested $1.5bn in Epic Games - Related to branch, but, year, eyes, rumoured

All Eyes on Rumoured State of Play Later This Week

All Eyes on Rumoured State of Play Later This Week

While there’s been no comment or confirmation from platform holder Sony, the industry’s most notorious crystal ball gazers all believe there’ll be a State of Play this week.

Reliable tipsters like Jeff Grubb, Nate the Hate, and Brazil have all tossed their hats into the ring, although it’s uncertain exactly which day the stream will take place.

Some of have suggested this will be a Valentine’s Day broadcast, although it’ll depend upon which timezone you’re in, we suppose.

Sony tends to announce these events mere days before they’re actually broadcast, so we’d expect an announcement on Tuesday assuming all the speculation is accurate.

We know Hideo Kojima has been busy cutting a new trailer for Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, but we’ve been misled by his social media activity before. Other titles which could feature include Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, Marvel’s Wolverine, Ghost of Yotei – and, well, Bloodborne is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year. Just sayin’.

Given the calibre of the rumourmongers mentioned above, we’re inclined to believe a State of Play is happening imminently, and we’ll of course bring you official confirmation as soon as it’s unveiled.

Fantasy Life All But Confirmed for PS5, PS4 as Level-5 CEO Provides Update

An revision on Level-5's upcoming RPG, Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time, has teased news about the game's release.

On X, the developer's CEO Akihiro Hino made the following post:

[website] Here is a translated version of LEVEL-5 CEO Akihiro Hino's latest tweet regarding FANTASY LIFE i: The Girl Who Steals Time: [website] February 9, 2025.

"Regarding FANTASY LIFE i, there has been a slight delay in the release of major news due to various factors, such as compatible platforms and new hardware," it reads, likely hinting at the already-rumbled PlayStation release (details below).

Hino also says the game is shaping up to be "an outstanding RPG" with improved visuals and "significantly more enjoyable" gameplay.

With the game (briefly) appearing with an official PS Store page, all we need now is the proper announcement. We all know it's coming, after all — perhaps this is being queued up for the supposed State of Play later this week? We'll soon see.

It looks like Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time, developed and -5, is en route for PS5 and PS4.

The game, currently only officially confirmed for Nintendo Switch, made an appearance on a short-lived PS Store page, which went live briefly but has now been taken down.

This was spotted by the eagle-eyed Gematsu:

A PlayStation Store page for FANTASY LIFE i: The Girl Who Steals Time was . It lists PS5 / PS4 versions, and an April 23 release date (or April 24—time zones). Currently only *officially* presented for Switch release in April. [website] January 27, 2025.

, the game is set to arrive on 23rd April 2025.

This will mark the debut of the series on PlayStation, as previous entries have only been released on Nintendo devices and mobile.

Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time is an adorable life sim RPG in which you must travel back in time to gather resources, then go back to the present to develop your island home. We've popped a trailer at the top to give you an idea.

You can swap to various roles, or lives, in order to focus on different things, such as mining, carpentry, fighting monsters, and so on. It bears a resemblance of sorts to Animal Crossing, only with a little more action.

Presumably an announcement is just around the corner — we'll revision this article if it's all made official.

Disney x Fortnite collab moves into "stable" branch exactly a year after Disney invested $1.5bn in Epic Games

Disney x Fortnite collab moves into

Exactly a year after the Walt Disney corporation showcased it was acquiring a $[website] USD stake in Epic Games and launched a multi-year partnership to create an "expansive and open games and entertainment universe connected to Fortnite", the Fortnite x Disney collaboration event has reportedly moved into a "stable" build.

Whilst it remains unclear, what, exactly, the collaboration will be, noted Fortnite leaker HypeX expressed the status change likely comes because "they probably made a lot of progress and moved into the next roadmap milestone".

At the time the collaboration was showcased, explicit mention was made of Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and Avatar, with customers able to "create their own stories and experiences, express their fandom in a distinctly Disney way, and share content with each other in ways that they love".

Since then, fans have gone on to form their own theories - or wishlists - including the suggestion by some that we could see a Disney Infinity-esque mode added to the Fortnite, or some kind of persistent "Disney Metaverse" to explore.

Whatever it is, hopefully we won't have to wait too much longer for the finer details.

HypeX also confirmed over the weekend that Fast & Furious x Fortnite skins are also "coming soon".
