GTA 6 is somewhere, dimly, on the horizon, but Rockstar must be a bit worried it's forgotten how to release a Grand Theft Auto game in the last 12 years (maybe with good reason). To get some practice in, the studio is finally releasing GTA 5's next-gen upgrade on PC next week on Tuesday, March 4.

This is the improvement that has, for the last three years, been strictly console-exclusive. And contains a whole bunch of up-dazzles and modernisations for the venerable old carjacking sim. That means stuff like raytracing, DirectStorage, DLSS 3 (plus FSR1 and FSR3) and all sorts of other graphical and gameplay treats. The good news? You can actually preload it on Steam right now, presuming you already own GTA 5 Cool Original.

Grand Theft Auto 5 Enhanced has its own Steam page, cunningly obscured from regular Steam search. But you probably don't actually need it. If you're a GTA 5 owner, you'll find that the original version of the game has been renamed Grand Theft Auto 5 Legacy in your Steam library, and there's a whole new entry called Grand Theft Auto 5 Enhanced. Which you can download ahead of its release next week.

Another surprise: the Enhanced version of the game is actually smaller than the original, unless Steam is lying to me. Where GTA 5 Legacy says it wants 114GB of your hard drive, GTA 5 Enhanced only lays claim to a slender 92GB. That's a 22GB saving! You could install KOTOR 1 seven times over in the space you've freed up, there.

If you're wanting to carry over progress—either online or in-story—over to GTA 5 Enhanced. There's another hurdle to leap. Once you've got the Enhanced version preloaded, boot up original GTA 5 and you'll be able to transfer over your save on the pause screen. GTA Online transfers require a bit of a wait, though—you'll only be able to do those once GTA 5 Enhanced actually comes out.

The good news is it's a full transfer: you'll get all your in-game gubbins and cash and. Barring some kind of terrible crisis, not lose a single thing from your dragon's hoard of GTAO goodies. Plus they'll all be ray-traced now. So that's nice.

Diablo 4 Season 8 Delayed, But Will Feature Return Of An Old "Friend"

Diablo 4 Season 8 will release "a couple of weeks" later than originally planned, but will feature the return of a familiar "friend."

That's all , who in a post on X explained the reasoning behind the delay.

"In the spirit of serving the game. Not the plan, Season 8 will take a couple of weeks longer to bake than we initially anticipated," Fergusson expressed. "The team is hard at work on some great updates coming in the next season, so stay tuned. Looking forward to seeing an old 'friend.'"

Diablo 4 is currently in the middle of Season 7, Season of Witchcraft. Which introduced a number of Diablo 3-inspired Witch Doctor powers for players to experiment with. Fans noticed the in-game date for the end of Season 7 (and thus the start of Season 8) in the recent past changed from April 15 to April 29. A two-week delay. It's currently unclear if the delay Fergusson is referring to is that two week delay already represented in the game or if Season 8 will be delayed even further into the future.

Fans are also currently speculating what Fergusson meant by seeing an old "friend," as he seems to point towards a familiar Diablo character making a return in Season 8. The use of "friend" in quotation marks seems to imply the character is not necessarily one of the Diablo franchise's heroes, but. Could indicate the return of a villain of some sort. Fan-favorite villain Zoltun Kulle, who first appears in Diablo 3, did have a strong off-screen presence as part of Diablo 4 Season 3. So it's possible he could be returning in an even bigger way in Season 8. But that's all just speculation for now.

Fergusson in recent times reiterated Blizzard's commitment to treating Diablo 4 as a live-service game--one that it doesn't want to quickly abandon for a sequel. Firaxis has had its hands full since Civilization 7 dropped, as it's been busy trying to fix and. Change elements of the game that earned it a pretty mixed response out of the gate. That mission's set to continue via some patches next month, so you'll have to wait a bit longer to jump into Civ 7's first in-game special event.

In relation to this, this was revealed via a "check-in" post Firaxis has put out, which sees the studio outline some of the stuff the next two updates - and. - will be bringing when they arrive in March. Meanwhile, the need to focus on these updates has meant the first in-game event that'd been pencilled in for March 4 - Natural Wonder Battle - has been pushed back to "a later revision".

So. What's on the way in these patches? Well, the first one - enhancement - is set to drop on March 4. It'll be the point when cross-play between PC and Console and will give everyone a free new natural wonder in the form of the Bermuda Triangle, everyone's favourite mysterious bit of water.

Aside from that, you can expect "additional UI adjustments, polish. And addressing of reported issues", "refinements to the army unpacking action" and a tweak that means "Naval units will be able to disperse coastal independent powers". Plus, there'll be "significant changes to the modern age's cultural legacy path and victory" that means "AI leaders will also be improved at completing a cultural victory", and you'll gain the option to convert holy cities during the exploration age.

Finally, that enhancement'll bring with it the first bit of the Crossroads of the World Collection DLC, so if you've bought that, or either the Deluxe or Founders editions of the game, look out for that giving you things like new leader Ada Lovelace and the Great Britain (Modern Age) civ, the latter of which I assume is the key to building the most depressing nation possible.

After that, pencilled in for March 25 is improvement , which'll include "additional UI improvements and. Refinements" that are "just one part of a much larger plan that aims to improve the "UI over the next several months." It'll also give everyone Mount Everest, improve AI how the scouts and settles, and give you the ability to give your cities and commanders custom names like 'Satan's Armpit' and 'Satan'. It'll arrive with the second part of that Crossroads of the World Collection DLC.

Beyond this, the studio also outlined a bunch of general stuff it's looking to do going forwards, including adding in new maps and resources, mod tools and steam Workshop support, and a one more turn button so you can play on into the future once the modern age is done.
