EVGA Closes Official Discussion Forum, Advises Membership Transfer to Reddit

EVGA has kept a very low profile over the past two years—'s news section, the corporation last introduced new power supply products around August 2023 . Last July, we heard about extreme overclocker KINGPIN's transition to PNY , and the emergence of an EVGA-designed AMD X670E chipset prototype motherboard. The summer 2023 news cycle generated further rumors about EVGA's motherboard endeavors having ended . Alleged disagreements with Team Green prompted the corporation—as a board partner—to shutter its NVIDIA GeForce graphics card business in 2022. Late last night, the American computer hardware manufacturer made a surprising "out of the blue" announcement, via its official discussion board—as spotted by VideoCardz Unfortunately, EVGA's latest bulletin signals the end of community activity on its popular forum—a statement reads as follows: "responding to the feedback from our valued consumers and in light of Reddit's widespread popularity, EVGA would like to encourage its community to transition to Reddit. As of this announcement, our existing forums will be read only and our team will actively engage with consumers on Reddit threads moving forward. EVGA and our Moderators would like to thank all its forum members for the years of posts bringing together a great community of PC Enthusiast, and we hope to continue this community at its new home on Reddit." EVGA recommends that its members "head over" to the almost decade old TEAMEVGA subreddit. A nice welcome message greeted new arrivals: "I know a lot of you will miss the forums, but I would like to point out that many PC companies stopped using forums and switched to Reddit and/or Discord. Mods are still here to help you."

Reddit is like just throwing crap at the wall. There's no organization and posts just get ignored/lost down the one wall of shite. It has been clear this day would come (and that they'll just continue shutting things down one piece at a time), but it's still sad to see. , 22:11 Reply.

Considering that their remaining business was power supplies and not many of them are in stock from actual vendors, I figured something like this was coming soon.

Shihab How many of their overpriced cards do they need to sell to afford running a forum? Like, 2 a year? US pricing was generally competitive in my experience, and that's where the lion's share of their market was. I understand their pricing was much less favorable elsewhere in the world.

What a bummer.... I've owned alot of their PSU's & GPU's in the past and never, ever, had a single problem with any of them, even after some post-warranty tinkering & modding here & there, and my son still has one of their PSU's in his back-up rig that was purchased over 7 years ago & still running just fine :D , 23:53 Reply.

Never had a problem with EVGA. My 10 year old EVGA FTW 980TI's in SLI are still running strong with a modest overclock. Been using the computer daily for gaming and work. And, my 8 year old 1,000 Watt EVGA G3 power supply is still going strong... That's all I got from them but never had a problem with their product. I HAVE had other PSU's burn up before or cause instability... In that time I've been through 3 different motherboard due to various issues/upgrading. It's become a game for me now to see how long it will last. I want to start gaming more on my computer just to see if I can break something. Actually, a couple weeks ago I intentionally threw my computer off my desk and everything still works. The case broke apart and all the panels and filters broke off, but, the frame is still square and it still runs perfectly...:kookoo: , 1:07 Reply.

There is an epoch of incredibly useful information regarding every bit of minutia on EVGA's products within that forum, as well as BIOS files, drivers, unofficial tweaks, utilities, modding guides, overclocking guides, how-tos, and dos/donts for enthusiasts. Losing that forum is going to be an incredibly big hole in knowledge for anyone in the future that ever lays their hands on a legacy EVGA product. , 3:15 Reply.
