NVIDIA SHIELD TV is the perfect device for on-the-go gaming | Video credit: NVIDIA.

It remains to be seen if NVIDIA will let another two years pass before releasing another upgrade for the SHIELD TV, but the fact that the device is still getting updates after so many years is encouraging. Although we’re convinced that there are still issues left to address, NVIDIA highlights just one known issue with the “Upgrade [website]” upgrade. , the SHIELD TV will be removed from Google Home after SHIELD Experience [website] installation. Thought NVIDIA abandoned the Shield TV? A major new update is here.

The enhancement adds support for a new 3D audio format and delivers loads of bug fixes.

The NVIDIA Shield TV series enjoyed a great run of updates from the first Shield TV release back in 2015. That run ended in 2022, bar a hot-fix improvement last year. There’s good news, though, as NVIDIA has just issued a hefty improvement for its Android TV devices.

Android Headlines spotted the availability of the Shield Experience [website] enhancement today, and it brings several aspects worth knowing. The most notable addition is support for the AURO-3D audio format via a compatible decoder, although this is limited to the Pro model. Other additions include support for the Match audio content resolution feature via USB DAC, a “security enhancement” for 4K DRM playback, and French parental controls.

The new Shield TV modification also offers many bug fixes. This includes fixes for choppy playback after rewinding or fast-forwarding, audio stutter with aptX-enabled audio products, the Shield drive filling up, and crashes when changing volume.

Unfortunately, the upgrade also removes the Shield TV from Google Home integration. You can view the full changelog below.

New or upgraded apps AURO-3D: This improvement unlocks full support for playback of high-resolution immersive sound in AURO-3D over HDMI. Connect your NVIDIA SHIELD TV Pro to an AURO-3D compatible decoder and enjoy the most natural 3D sound experience from streaming apps such as Artist Connection.

Realme P3 Pro spotted on Geekbench ahead of launch

The Realme P3 series is due to launch in India later this month and we now have another sighting of the Pro model ahead of launch. The device (RMX5032) was spotted on Geekbench with the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chip and 12GB RAM at the helm.

Realme P3 Pro scored 1195 single-core score and a 3309 multi-core score, which is in line with other phones equipped with the same chip. Geekbench also confirmed Android 15 on the software front, presumably running with Realme UI 6 on top.

The non-Pro variant of the phone was also spotted on Geekbench earlier this week with a modified version of the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 featuring lower CPU clock speeds.

The P3 Pro is already confirmed to feature a 6,000 mAh battery with 80W wired charging and a massive VC cooling system covering a 6050mm² area.

Usually, such an upgrade path would quickly be labeled a.
