Terraria Item IDs, Journey Mode & Server Commands

Important disclaimer

Journey Mode and server console commands are official Re-Logic features. Third-party inventory editors and hacked clients are not covered here and may get you banned on multiplayer servers.

Terraria doesn't have GTA-style cheat codes — but Re-Logic's Journey Mode, dedicated server console, and thousands of official item IDs serve the same search intent. This page lists popular IDs, vanilla chat commands, and server admin commands with no exploit links.

Terraria item IDs & server commands

Terraria has no traditional cheat-code list like GTA — instead Re-Logic ships Journey Mode (official creative powers), vanilla multiplayer chat commands, and dedicated-server console commands. Item IDs are the numbers the game uses internally; they appear in chat tags, mods, and server tools. This page covers all three — no third-party hack clients.

Journey Mode (singleplayer / server)

Create a Journey character or set difficulty=3 in serverconfig.txt. Open the Journey powers menu (shield icon) for God Mode, time control, research duplication, and spawn-rate sliders.

Dedicated server console

Run TerrariaServer.exe, type commands in the server window (help, save, kick, dawn, etc.).

In-game chat (multiplayer)

Press Enter, type /help, /playing, /roll, or /party — works on all vanilla servers.

  • Journey characters cannot join non-Journey worlds (and vice versa).
  • Item spawn via /item requires TShock or similar server mods — not vanilla. We list IDs for Journey duplication and official reference only.
  • Third-party inventory editors and hacked clients risk bans on modded servers.

Item IDs and server commands verified against the Official Terraria Wiki (terraria.wiki.gg). Journey Mode is Re-Logic's official creative mode since 1.4.

TShock / item spawn mods

Commands like /item and /godmode on multiplayer servers come from server mods (TShock), not vanilla Terraria. They require server admin setup. This page focuses on vanilla Journey Mode, official item IDs, and Re-Logic server console commands.

  • Vanilla: Journey Mode + /help, /playing, /roll
  • Server console: help, save, kick, dawn/noon/dusk
  • TShock /item: third-party — not listed here

FAQ

How do I get any item in Terraria without mods?

Create a Journey Mode world and character. Research an item by picking it up once, then duplicate it from the Journey research menu. No console or cheat codes needed.

What is item ID 4956 in Terraria?

4956 is the Zenith — the endgame sword crafted from multiple hardmode swords. Use [i:4956] in chat to display its icon.

Do Terraria item IDs work on console?

Item IDs are the same across Desktop, Console, and Mobile. Journey Mode duplication works on all platforms; server console commands are PC/Mac/Linux only.
